Monthly Expense

I actually got this tag from from Kathy few weeks back. And I just remembered answering it as I went to the groceries yesterday. Gosh, I was suprised as to how much I ended up with the cashier. Times are hard and prices are just unimaginable expensive. As you know, I shoulder most of the household expenses as my hubby takes care of saving (a lot!) for us. It works for us that way. Cause otherwise, I won’t be able to save at all. I’m one big spender and I won’t stop until I have something in my wallet, (hehehe) so we decided that since I love spending, I would take care of most of the bills.

How many sq meters is your place, and how many people live there?

I actually do not now how many square meters. Hehehe. We are staying right now with my parents. We still don’t have our luck for the dreamhouse. Maybe next year. We are 7 adults (yes, we are many!–>my parents, me and hubby, and 3 maids) plus 2 kids.

How much is your electricity bill monthly? Water?

Electricity – We have two meralco meters in one house. My parents pay for their own electric bills. For us, 5,000- 6,000 a month. Our peak was more than 6,000 during summer.
Water – less than 500 only.
Dues – none. my parents are paying for it.

Other utilities?
House Rent – as i said, we are boarders of my parents (lol)
Internet – PLDT DSL at 999 a month (on top of landline)
Mobile Phone Plans – 2,500 plan for me but I’m going beyond. Peak at 6,000 a month. But thanks to the loyalty program, I was able to get rebates of like 1,800 a month for 24 months. I’m on my 2nd month already. Hubby has his own plan tied up with office benefits.
Landline -PLDT – 700 a month
Drinking Water – 1,000 a month
Cable – 650 a month
Fuel/Gas – For my own car, like around 12,000 a month. Super expensive gas this time. Last time, I gas up for a full tank, it was at 2.4K! Whoa. Peak at 15,000 if I have a lot of out of town events. Hubby has lesser cost in gas, aside from his office shoulders a part of it, house-office lang sya. Unlike me who tours the whole metro manila in 2-3 times a week for meetings.
LPG – actually don’t know, my parents pay for it.
Maids/Yayas – 3 at 3,000 each. (good thing, i removed already the one who doing the laundry, that’s actually another 2,000! I’m just broke with household help expense that’s why I cannot afford a driver anymore! lol!)

Helper’s daily allowance for snacks – they are part of my groceries.

Groceries? Market?
Groceries – one time big time when I do groceries. I do groceries once a month in Shopwise every first wednesday since it’s double your points for wisecard! Ok, now for the figure, 20,000 a month including milks, diapers, etc. Ok, let me get this, we are 7 adults ok! and I buy a lot of snacks for the kids as I don’t allow them buying in the stores near us. It includes already some little luxuries like ice creams, pastas, breakfast menus. Sometimes, I also buy fruits from the supermarket and lean meats. Ofcourse it includes all those cleaning/laundry items and when I do shop in the groceries, I need a minimum of 1.5 hours, as I go aisle by aisle. I know it’s not good but I just love moving around each shelves.

Market (Menu) – 10,000 (weekly budget of 2,500 for the wet market)
