It is just 56 days to go before Christmas and my oh my, I haven’t started anything yet with christmas shopping. Call me an ultimate procastinor, that is. Well I have few suggestions for christmas gifts on this blog but would you believe that I haven’t even updated my list from last year? You see I always a keep a list of people to give to during christmas. And i do notice that my list gets longer every year. And since times are hard, need to work out a plan on how to get best deals in shopping. For this year, I have been thinking to purchase most of my gifts online during the black friday 2008. I have been saving a lot of online money to be able to go crazy with this sale happening the day after Thanksgiving. And what’s good about online shopping is that I do not even have to fall in line as early as 5am in stores. I’ll be a happy camper doing it in the comfort of my home. I can’t wait for it to happen as I am very sure that I would drool over the ToysRUs discounts that would be available. Gee, I even added about 3 goddaughters/sons for this year so it would be perfect. I still have not decided what to get for the kids though. I still want to get new cartdriges for Margaux’s L-Max cause she pretty memorized already the answers to the Dora the Explorer cartdrige. And when I checked the Black Friday site, I got excited for all great items I can buy not only for the kids but for my friends and family as well. Now, let me get started in working on my list! Though, I might end up working on my own wish list instead! lol!

I joined the N@W Garage Sale yesterday. I had a great fun experience plus I was suprised how patrons there were really going ga-ga about all items on sale. So it was true on what I received through email from the organizer. Haven’t really unloaded all of our boxes yet, but there were already a lot of buyers in the site.
Look on the picture of my booth, which Mae took:

Grabe, di pa nga assembled yung table ko nyan at yung ibang boxes eh kinukuha pa ng maid. I asked my friend AA to join me as well. She had 1 balikbayan box to sell.
I made an inventory of all my goods, thinking that I would have time to check on all items I will be able to sell. Unfortunately, di ko na nagawa yun. Grabe, I remember sitting down at 12nn already after we started at 10am! hahaha.
Toys, kids stuff were the first one to be bought. And a lot are looking for shoes particularly rubber shoes for men. Too bad, I wasn’t able to check on our shoe racks yet. I plan to join again on other upcoming schedules as I haven’t really cleaned up all rooms yet. It feels so good being able to clean up all the unnecessary items at home and being able to sell it even.

for those of you who have been bugging me to reveal what’s inside the two brown bags…
Gucci Shopper Bag (new Joy Collection)

Bellevue PM in Vernis (Amarante color)

I actually bought the LV bag in LV store in Landmark in Central on our last day, friday. I’m supposed to get the Hamstead in Azur but it was out of stock. I decided not to get an Alma in Epi yet since I favor that most of my outfits during meetings are casualwear. The epi works well for more corporate look so I decided to get a vernis collection instead.
I never entered any gucci stores while we were in the city but since we arrived in the airport early on our way back to manila, i had time to move around the stores. I almost bought a black Prada bag with a gold hardware, so pretty also but it was over my budget already. So would you believe that I bought the gucci bag almost 15minutes before the gate was closed for boarding? I just had to buy it as well, it’s so pretty in my shoulders plus price is reasonable.
These are my new babies…

You are often the first to try something new.
You are friendly, witty, and likable.
You charm is overwhelming. People are enchanted by you.
You have a comeback for anything. Because of this, you seem flippant at times.

Gee, I got a letter from Margaux’s teacher re their United Nations Activity 2 weeks from now. It would be on October 24, Friday. There’s was no specific country requested for Margaux. It is all up to the parents on what to ask their kids to wear. Ok, so I’m now searching for a nice and cute united nations costume. Of course, the dotting mother in me wants it to be unique, because they will parade in the whole grounds of Miriam College!!!!
Any suggestions and any leads where to get one? I have been “googling” national costumes of different countries now. I think I need to pull hair of some people (read: designers/dressmakers) for this in order to have one if I can’t find something readily available.
This is pressure!

My gawd, for 2 consecutive days, I received credit cards from 2 different credit companies! What are they doing? I didn’t even applied for it and never have plans of really getting new credit cards. For me, it could be temptation so I am only activating one card, which has a LOWER credit limit. Besides, I am very loyal to the card that gives me travel reward points! We are close to having 2 roundtrip HK tickets, which I am hoping to use by next year. Still charging and swiping the card to get 4 roundtrip HK tickets instead. This would make the husband agree for a trip next year!
Read from Goodhousekeeping Magazine how to use credit card wisely. It says that it can work for you or againts you. A credit limit of 50K allows you to spend the 50K even before you receive your income but it doesn’t give you additional spending money of 50K. Gets?
But because credit card processing nowadays is becoming easy and card companies just send you free cards, here are some tips to remember to make that plastic card your bestfriend and not regret being affiliated with any.
1. Charge only what you can afford to pay. I read from a book before that your total payments for debts, loans including credit card bills should not be more than 15 to 20 percent of your take-home pay. Now, do your own math. Set only a monthly limit of charges.
2. Pay your credit card bill on time and as much as possible in full. I totally agree with this. You are avoiding the finance charges which is usually like 3% of your total balance. At the very least, pay the minimum amount due every month.
3. Check your bill against copies of sales slips for your purchases. I have a system for this. I have an envelope which I keep for all my charge slips. When I receive my credit card bill, I check it vis-a-vis all the slips to ensure that I am charged correctly.
4. Be aware of your monthly cut-offs. Doing this would make you plan out payments. You don’t want to charge too many in one monthly cycle.
5. Check out discount offers and 0% offers. Being familiar which boutiques or restaurants offer discounts and freebies by using the credit card can make you save more money. Also, being aware of some 0% offers especially for bulk puchases can be a great way to work within your budget.

Jody’s Christmas Gift Suggestions
Let’s have food this time. And I always recommend this:

Goodies from Becky’s Kitchen
It was actually the husband who introduced me to Becky’s Kitchen when he was still courting me. He always brought me the walnut fudge brownies. Being a La Sallian himself, he swore about the goodness of all baked goodies from Becky’s Kitchen. Since then, I have always craved for their super moist brownies! love it!
They are starting to accept orders by November 15 and you will be suprised how many are placing their orders early. I remember 3 years ago when we tried to order from them like 2nd week of December, they can no longer accept it since they were fully booked already. They have wide selection of goodies to choose from and they even have christmas packaging available.
They have variety of baked goodies to choose from. My favorite is their walnut fudge brownies. Half box is at Php145 and Whole Box is Php270.
Visit their stores at:
