House upgrades…

Had some spring cleaning the other day and was able to note the items we need to buy for house upgrades. There are lighting fixtures we need to replace, buy new items for the comfort rooms, items for the bedroom. I was even thinking to get Tempur-Pedic pillows after learning there is a mattress sale online from Coast to Coast.  Oh, they even offer nationwide shipping.  What is even hot is that they also have new offerings on products that are eco-friendly and organic.  Isn’t that cool?

Flat tire…

Argh!  I got a flat tire this morning.  What a bad timing as I was rushing to a meeting actually.  I hit a big hole in one of the fly overs going to the Central Business District.  And next thing I knew, my wheels were wiggling.  I had to rush to the nearby gas station. Good thing, were were members of roadside assistance club, so emergencies like this isn’t much of a concern.  I had to wait though for a little less than an hour before the towing service arrived.  Apparently, the gas station I went to doesn’t have vulcanizing so the car had to be towed to a tire repair shop.  And it wasn’t just a repair actually, had to change to a new tire.  Yes, that was a entirely a bad tire. Oh, this is just pathetic. I even had to cancel meetings because of it!

New Mcdonalds…

There’s a new Mcdonald’s near the village. It is actually right before the village gate. We were one of those first patrons who was during the opening day. There were so many people actually. The kids were very excited for this new establishment and so the husband and I. They gave out custom mugs to all customers for the first day. The store is even 24 hours open so I think ordering for delivery would be a regular habit. (wink!)

10 Things Every Woman Must Own…

According to In Style Magazine, Here’s the list:

1. Black Blazer – A tailored blazer is classic, feminine and looks great on all body types. Pair it with anything: jeans, little dresses, trousers, skirts.

2. Leopard Print Scarf – Even if you’re wearing a basic T-shirt and jeans, use accessories like a printed scarf as the ‘bright’ piece to complete your look.

3. Red Flats -Black is the obvious choice, but red flats provide a pop of color and work for every season. I love to pair them with a striped shirt and a trench coat.

4. Striped Shirt – It looks great paired with brights or prints or peeking out from underneath a blazer.

5. Statement Necklace – The statement necklace can make a simple outfit look strong and feminine.”

6. Little Black Dress – Every woman knows she should have a little black dress, but it’s important to invest in one that’s special. Look for a dress with a detail—an interesting sleeve, an embellished belt—that makes it unique. And remember that finding the right fit is important

7. Black Opaque Tights – A great pair of tights can make your legs look slimmer and help you get away with wearing a dress that’s a little too short. Double them up for a more opaque look—and to keep you warm in the cold season

8. Oversize Watch – A watch is as much an accessory as it is a timepiece. A gold watch is a great way to dress an outfit up—try leaving it loose so it looks like a bracelet

9. Classic Trench – Think of this as an investment piece—you’ll wear it forever, even if you fluctuate in size. Look for a classic A-line silhouette that will cinch you in at the waist and wear it over everything from suits to jeans

10. Flared Jeans – This is a flattering shape for most body types. Pair them with platforms or wedges to get extra height while keeping the look casual and comfortable

Golden Spoon..

is my favorite frozen yogurt in town! Love the cake batter with buttered pecans. Ok, frozen yogurt is my excuse in taking sweets. It is quite addicting actually. I hope I still do not need any best weight loss pills even if I can finish a regular cup in 10 minutes, lol!  It is just so good. Been craving for it so much so I asked the husband to drive me today in Eastwood Mall so I could have my cup.

7 ways to look cozy chic…

We do not have a winter season (which I wish we have) but the “ber” months is actually here and it would get cold in no time, so how do you actually dress appropriately for the season?

As per In Style Magazine, these are top 7 ways to look cozy chic…

1. Cuff Jeans – you have seen probably ladies who have been cuffing their jeans. It could even be perfect to partner with a nice cardigan or a boyfriend blouse.
2. Pair Sleek Accessories with Skinny Jeans – baggy jeans are out. Get a skinny jeans for your self. Jeggings are becoming popular too.
3. Slim your silhouette with leggings – a stretchy pants can create a slender bottom half
4. Pile on thin knits – avoid chunky knits and opting for thinner sweaters and cardigans that layer easily, without adding bulk.
5. Wear Soft and Flowy With Warm and Wooly – Silk and chiffon dresses can be perfect with wool sweaters and heavy coats—their flowy silhouette keeps bulkier pieces from overwhelming an outfit, plus they showcase your legs!
6. Trade Your Coat for a Cape – Change things up with a sleek cape for almost as much warmth, but a lot less fabric.
7. Trade Up With a Fedora – Swap your chunky beanie or oversize trapper hat for a sleek fedora. The streamlined silhouette keeps your ears warm and avoids the bulk of a wooly scarf, glove and hat set.

Winter could be so fashionable, isn’t? After working your way to a cozy you, you also need to work up on a slimmer you so i guess knowing the top ten diet pills is also essential. That one I still have to research on and will try to share soon.

Little Kitchen…

Saw the above little play kitchen in Ikea in Windsor House in Hong Kong. It’s so cute. I almost bought it as I thought it would be perfect for the little girls play room. There was even like a play electric fireplace insert which could partner with the above for the mini living room area that they have there as well. But it would really be a problem to bring those home. I thought of course of shipping it instead but I’ll rather not get the hassle so I didn’t buy.  Instead got few ikea boxes, just about two, round place mats and ice cubes shaper.  I love Ikea!
