Pre-Holiday Sale from Shangri-la Resorts

Planning for a trip soon? Why not consider Shangri-La Resorts in Mactan or Boracay?

I also wish we could go back to these properties soon!

Countries to explore…

Are you the type of traveller who plans ahead?  Are you already considering places or countries to go to next year, 2013? I am actually.  But nothing is final yet as it is a different case now since we have newborn baby.  But just the same, I would like to share what Lonely Planet came out for Top 10 countries to discover in 2013.  The list might interest the traveller in you:

1.  Sri Lanka

2. Montenegro

3.  South Korea

4.  Ecuador

5.  Slovakia

6.  Solomon Islands

7. Iceland

8.  Turkey

9.  Dominican Republic

10.  Madagascar.

List taken from Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel for 2013.  Have your own research among the countries mentioned.  As for me, the most viable to consider from the list is just South Korea considering the cost and proximity from where I am. Happy traveling!

Almost winter…

Winter season is just around the corner. Lucky that we were able to experience one last year when we went for a family vacation. And it was indeed a very memorable experience to be able to have some snow fun play. The kids enjoyed so much when we went to some ski resorts wearing their bubble jackets. Of course, I also made it a point to be in complete gear. Good thing, I was able to snag some items from a mall sale and was able to check out the north face jackets for women.  This year is another story, as much as we want to experience again winter and travel to US yearly, we cannot this year because it will be hard to travel with an infant in tow. Hopefully, we can do it again next time.

Staycation anyone?

Staycation – this is a new trend now.  It’s a vacation without going out of-town, like staying within the city only.  A number of hotels in the Metro are offering such special local resident rates.  It is good especially for those busy people who only have just the weekend to spare.  Sometimes, it is also very tiring to even travel by land or air to a far place.  It’s even better to enjoy the luxury amenities of a hotel which is very close to home. Take a look for example this one from Edsa Shangrila Hotel.  It includes buffet breakfast for 2 adults and 2 kids already, wi-fi internet connection in the room and the privilege for a late check-out.  Hmm, sounds interesting.  The hotel offers a resort-like pool anyway, I’m sure my kids will love it! Might try one of these weekends when weather is good.

Getting ready for Winter…

Oh my, with barely 5 weekends to go before our trip, I really need to start my shopping list for the items we need to bring for the holiday vacation. I still need to get the following:

1. Thermal clothes for the kids
2. Thermal clothes for me and the husband
3. Gloves, bonnets and thermal socks for all of us.
4. Scarves
5. Winter jackets and hoping I could score a great deal for north face jackets
6. New set of luggages
7. New set of boots for me
8. Some winter clothes for me
9. Some winter clothes for the kids
10. “Pasalubong” for relatives

Well, my list can go on but I would like to prioritize first the items above. I hope I could find time this weekend to go shopping for the initial items.

US Itinerary…

Our US itinerary is being set. We are close to finalizing everything. And I am getting excited. Although, I think we are missing to go to Florida. I was wishing we can still include that in our itinerary because aside from a possible cruise which we can do there, I have been amazed on what I read about orlando fishing report. I actually want to experience it myself. I am sure it would be a great and a memorable trip if ever. Nevertheless, we are still excited on what we are cooking for this December.

10th year Anniversary Trip…

It will be less than 10 months to go and we are celebrating our 10th year wedding anniversary :) Lovely isn’t? I am already contemplating on how best to celebrate it. Either we go for a small party with family and friends or we travel in some romantic place. I am actually in favor of the vacation instead. I have a number of places in mind already but I have yet to seek approval of the husband. Topping my list is of course a Europe Trip. I would love to go to 4 key cities only. 2nd on my list is a romantic place like a beach island. Hawaii, Caribbean, Bahamas or Maldives. One friend of mine recommended Malibu in California. I never thought it could be a good one. I know the place to be popular as malibu rehab ;) But nevertheless, we will consider it as well. Choosing a vacation place won’t be a problem as long as the husband approves my proposed budget ;) Crossing my fingers ;)

Wedding on December…

After getting the wedding invitations of a relative this morning, I got really excited about their upcoming wedding on December. It made me realize too that we are just counting the months again for a much-awaited vacation of the family. I actually sat down this morning and tried to come up with a budget plan. I ended up having a headache! Lol! I checked the theme parks which we plan to go to and I almost fainted after learning that they have increased their rates. Now, I need to present to the husband so he can take a look. We need to start saving for this trip.
