I have heard a number of good reviews on this Vietnamese restaurant in Tagaytay. On our last weekend anniversary getaway, I decided to reserve for our Saturday lunch in Bawai’s Restaurant. I made a call the Monday before and was surprised to learn that they are already fully booked so they were just offering me to take a late lunch of 130pm. Since I really wanted to try it, I accepted the offer. They sent me via SMS messages their menu saying that we can already order prior so they can prepare the food already and be served right away. I replied back with my orders but didn’t get a confirmation if they got it.
That late Saturday morning, we headed to Tagaytay. We were already starving when we got in the restaurant around 120pm. The front of the restaurant (which looks like a house) was full of cars, an indication that there were lots of people dining in.
We were ushered in a small cabana with about 2 tables. 1 table was already occupied by three girls. We were led to the other table. We were left there and waiting for someone to come and hand to us a copy of the menu. But it was taking a while that my husband have to get up and talk to someone from outside. Apparently, they took note of our order already via SMS message too and they were already preparing it to be served.
Soon enough, our orders were served. But we still requested for a copy of their menu so we could add a soup.
We started off with the salad and the appetizer…

Goi Thit Tom
It is Shrimp and Pork with Lotus and Summer Vegetables. Superb crispiness of the vegetables. And I love the somehow sweet and sour sauce. A must-try!

Goi Cuon
Of course, you are not eating in a Vietnamese Restaurant if you won’t try Vietnamese Fresh Roll with Pork Strip and Shrimp and Veggies. This is so yummy! See that fresh shrimp right on top? And it comes with the perfect peanut sauce.

Pho Bo
The beef is so tender and the soup is so tasty. Another best seller – Beef Noodle Soup

Com Tam Bi
Grilled Pork Rib with Vietnamese Omelet serve with Rice – the pork rib is also tender and juicy. I like the omelet too.

Bo Kho
This is Vietnamese Beef Stew serve with Rice. I love how stewed it is and a perfect combination to the plain rice. This is a very yummy dish.
Overall, we enjoyed our hearty lunch. We also ordered their Pandan iced tea which is a very refreshing drink. I highly recommend ordering it. The prices are affordable too. You won’t regret dining here. We weren’t able to try their desserts as we were already so full and cannot wait to just rest in Discovery Country Suites. But I think there will be a next time as we do intend to go back to this restaurant.
For reservation, you may call 0920-9722924.
Location: From SLEX take Sta Rosa exit, then to the Highway going to Tagaytay, go straight till you see Tagaytay City Market on your right, then turn right, go straight, watch/look for Dominican House of Prayer Sign (approximately 1km away) then turn right. Go straight till you see BAWAIS sign on your right (approximately 1.9km away), then turn right, go straight till you see Bawai’s Restaurant on your left. Do not expect to really see a restaurant as it really looks like a house from outside.

I have tasted the best Phad Thai in the whole world!
No kidding. It was so good! We went to the buffet lunch in Mandarin Oriental Hotel and we enjoyed the whole experience from riding their shuttle boat to transport you to the other side of the river to dining in thai way. The food was great and most especially the freshly cooked Phad Thai. My friends and I almost lost our conversation about fore factor reviews after trying the popular Phad thai noodle. We just raved about it too much
That lunch is a must try when you are in Bangkok!

Yes, we are snacking at this wee hours! I know it’s bad. But we tried not to have dinner and we ended up waking up in the middle of the night feeling so hungry. Thanks to online restaurant delivery, it was a savior for our hungry pangs. Such online service is a seamless kind of website which allows you order food from different restaurants around the city. It is a total convenience! I think I should load up their mobile application too so next time I’m out from the house, I can even do my orders through my iPhone.

There’s a new Mcdonald’s near the village. It is actually right before the village gate. We were one of those first patrons who was during the opening day. There were so many people actually. The kids were very excited for this new establishment and so the husband and I. They gave out custom mugs to all customers for the first day. The store is even 24 hours open so I think ordering for delivery would be a regular habit. (wink!)

is my favorite frozen yogurt in town! Love the cake batter with buttered pecans. Ok, frozen yogurt is my excuse in taking sweets. It is quite addicting actually. I hope I still do not need any best weight loss pills even if I can finish a regular cup in 10 minutes, lol! It is just so good. Been craving for it so much so I asked the husband to drive me today in Eastwood Mall so I could have my cup.

One of my favorite activities to do in Hong Kong is non-stop eating! Yeah, it was a real pig out all the time. I have gained 10 pounds from the last trip. On a lighter note, glad I was able to finalize first on getting a cheap life insurance for myself before that trip, lol! My folks enjoyed eating all chinese food from Dimsum to real authentic ones even the desserts. And oh, we had some moon cakes too! Here are pictures of some of what we ate:

How could I possibly continue with my diet if I’m distracted for something like this?

And I’m munching on it, right at this very moment. It is actually my favorite! Thanks to a client for giving me a whole box, 18packs that is! It was a “pasalubong” from an overseas bride. I already finished two packs! This is bad! I know, it’s fatty! But what the heck, I got the new diet pills that my friend recommended. Hope it would do the trick!

Doing good still with my “improvised” South Beach Diet! Almost towards the end of my 2nd week. Still a challenging diet especially without the “sweets” but I’m happy with results…down to 6lbs now! Slowly, I’m gonna get there! ;)

If we won’t be out of the country on 3rd week of November, I would definitely attend this. Perfect as we are always playing hosts for parties and I want to make delictable hors d’ oeuvres to impress our guests especially this holiday season…
Taken from Enderun website. Check out their other short courses…
Sumptuous party food never ceases to make gatherings livelier and lovelier. Though they are meant to be served before the main course, these finger foods are no doubt as delectable and stimulating as full meals.
“Laid out on a row of platters, hors d’oeuvres must scream for attention and make people’s mouths water. In a single bite, they should manage to please the palate and tease it at the same time. What I will teach you are these, but simple enough to give you time to prepare for the big soiree.”
