McDonald’s Happy Meal

We completed the Smurf toys through McDonald’s Happy Meal in one dining. Glad it was available in McDonald’s Katipunan so I ordered 8 meals at the same time. The toys are so cute. Of course, the girls are giddy happy for their new small blue men.

On the other note, I was impressed with the gift baskets I saw online when I was browsing using my iPad, while I was waiting for the girls as they were playing in the play area of McDonalds.  Oh how I love the gourmet gift boxes.  It could be a perfect gift for Christmas to suppliers friends.  I wonder if I can get it locally.  The rates are very economical too and the packing/presentation is superb.  I should start looking for a supplier of those here in my area.

Cirque de Soleil in Manila

I have been hearing a lot of good reviews about Varekai, the Cirque de Soleil show in Manila.  The show started last June 22 and will be until July 24 only.  There are a lot of raves about the show that it has increased my interest to watch as well.  We purposely didn’t buy the tickets at first since we originally didn’t want to watch at all.  We are thinking to catch Cirque de Soleil in Las Vegas this December instead.  But since I got this online flyer, I gave in and just bought our tickets for the July 20 show.  Now, there’s an advantage in delaying the decision to buy.  The 10% savings will be good enough for our food that night ;)

So if you haven’t bought yet your tickets, here’s your last chance…

Bawai’s Restaurant

I have heard a number of good reviews on this Vietnamese restaurant in Tagaytay. On our last weekend anniversary getaway, I decided to reserve for our Saturday lunch in Bawai’s Restaurant. I made a call the Monday before and was surprised to learn that they are already fully booked so they were just offering me to take a late lunch of 130pm. Since I really wanted to try it, I accepted the offer. They sent me via SMS messages their menu saying that we can already order prior so they can prepare the food already and be served right away. I replied back with my orders but didn’t get a confirmation if they got it.

That late Saturday morning, we headed to Tagaytay. We were already starving when we got in the restaurant around 120pm. The front of the restaurant (which looks like a house) was full of cars, an indication that there were lots of people dining in.

We were ushered in a small cabana with about 2 tables. 1 table was already occupied by three girls. We were led to the other table. We were left there and waiting for someone to come and hand to us a copy of the menu. But it was taking a while that my husband have to get up and talk to someone from outside. Apparently, they took note of our order already via SMS message too and they were already preparing it to be served.

Soon enough, our orders were served. But we still requested for a copy of their menu so we could add a soup.

We started off with the salad and the appetizer…

Goi Thit Tom

It is Shrimp and Pork with Lotus and Summer Vegetables. Superb crispiness of the vegetables. And I love the somehow sweet and sour sauce. A must-try!

Goi Cuon

Of course, you are not eating in a Vietnamese Restaurant if you won’t try Vietnamese Fresh Roll with Pork Strip and Shrimp and Veggies. This is so yummy! See that fresh shrimp right on top? And it comes with the perfect peanut sauce.

Pho Bo

The beef is so tender and the soup is so tasty. Another best seller – Beef Noodle Soup

Com Tam Bi

Grilled Pork Rib with Vietnamese Omelet serve with Rice – the pork rib is also tender and juicy. I like the omelet too.

Bo Kho

This is Vietnamese Beef Stew serve with Rice. I love how stewed it is and a perfect combination to the plain rice.  This is a very yummy dish.

Overall, we enjoyed our hearty lunch.  We also ordered their Pandan iced tea which is a very refreshing drink.  I highly recommend ordering it.  The prices are affordable too.  You won’t regret dining here.  We weren’t able to try their desserts as we were already so full and cannot wait to just rest in Discovery Country Suites. But I think there will be a next time as we do intend to go back to this restaurant.

For reservation, you may call 0920-9722924.

Location:  From SLEX take Sta Rosa exit, then to the Highway going to Tagaytay, go straight till you see Tagaytay City Market on your right, then turn right, go straight, watch/look for Dominican House of Prayer Sign (approximately  1km away) then turn right.  Go straight till you see BAWAIS sign on your right (approximately 1.9km away), then turn right, go straight till you see Bawai’s Restaurant on your left.  Do not expect to really see a restaurant as it really looks like a house from outside.

Gift Idea!

I always get queries from clients on what to give their male principal sponsors and even their male entourage. Sometimes, I am really lost with ideas already aside from the usual wines, pens and neckties as options . Recently, I came across these nice Gift Baskets for Men. I didn’t realize that these goodies could actually be great present for men especially those sugar-free sweets and savories. I also like those coffee inspired gift basket.  Glad such options are now available in the market.

LED Screen…

is the new way for events recently. Weddings are not spared, some clients are opting for LED Screen instead of the usual projector screen. In the recent event we did last week, our theme was a bar set-up. We even have to hire four photographers that will act as paparazzi photographers while the guests are going down the red carpet. We also hired 4 big men bouncers. Our set-up for the registration even includes a bar stool and a lighted signage of the bride and groom’s monogram.

Website Updates…

I am finally updating my event website. You may hover to it next time. Thanks to my able assistant for taking time to update the contents of the site. There are still a number of things to key in there but we are getting there somewhere. The website is a great tool for me to advertise my service. In fact, I am checking how could I get the site optimized and be on top of the google page rank when clients look for a wedding planner in Manila. I am reading about seo moz reviews and see if this could help me. For the meantime, watch out for more updates in my event’s website.

My list is not yet done…

I am still not done with my christmas shopping. I think I need to allot few more days to actually finish everything. I am loosing some ideas on what to give to teenage nephews. Any suggestions? I saw some nice jackets from Jimmy Jazz. I wonder if my nephews would actually like those coogi clothing but they are just so cute. In fact, they offer great discounts and even guarantees that items would be shipped before christmas. I particularly love their men’s outwears. Saw something that my husband would even like.

Science Discovery Center

Margaux and her classmates went to this Science Discovery Center in Mall of Asia. I highly recommend the place as it offers interesting activities for the children. The center is open everyday from 10am to 10pm. It has a very spacious 15-meter dome Planetarium that is fully interactive and provides real-time 3D features. During the show, the kids were given scopes so they can actually enjoy looking at the planets and galaxies above the dome. The center is divided into different galleries: Robot Inc, Virtual Reef, Grossology, Life Clock, Transportation Nation, City Science among others. Walk-in rates for adults and kids is Php330.00. This is a good place to visit with your kids when you are within Mall of Asia.
