I was in Bonifacio High Street today for a meeting when I passed by and saw some fabulous ottomans, coffee tables and contemporary sofas from Bo Concept. What’s more, they are on with their Semi-Annual Sale. I love the leather sofa beds! Since we have been thinking to convert either the play room or the guest room to a family/den room, we might consider getting from there. They have lovely pieces! I must convince the husband that we should get the leather sofa bed from there.

I saw some nice rustic furniture in Home Depot here. I wish I could buy it and pack it up to bring home to Manila. It would be perfect pieces for our lawn area. I found a nice rustic bench and a coffee table partnered with 4 chairs. It would be nice to sit there and sip your cup of coffee in the morning. I am just amazed that there are so much options here. Wish these stuff are available back home.

Yes, I love Ethan Allen! It was one of the furniture shops we checked when we were furnishing the house but we just can’t afford a sofa set for Php350K!!!
We opted for customized one instead. But should you have the budget, check out what they have to offer until end of the month. I also love their linens especially the curtains and bed throws there. It was all imported fabrics. Of course, they cater as well to modern design of furniture. Drooling over their nice embellishments for the house. They are located in Pioneer Street, Pioneer St.At Reliance St, Mandaluyong City. Tel. 63.2.634.8587.

There have been plans to add something in our open lawn area
It is still within our talks. The husband needs to see the costing first before he agrees. I haven’t started calling any contractors yet to canvass for it. I’m sure the cost of it won’t be the same with us putting up a small fish pond on the side and getting a fish pond filter for it instead. Can you guess what we are planning? A lapping one would do. I’m sure the kids would have a blast with it if ever it pushes through.

I have a special fetish nowadays in buying Rugs. I particularly want nice Area Rugs for the living room. I found modern pieces of Cheap Rugs from Superior Rugs site. I know they do provide quality rugs at low prices. I am even thinking to buy in bulk already and have everything shipped in my in-laws place so we can just pack everything in a box when we go there this year.
Area rugs can actually add a character to a room, revitalize an old room and can even add a finish touch to a room. Did you know that depending on the material used for the rug, it can even absorb the noise level in a room? Sounds interesting right? Sizes differ as well depending as to where you would put it. If course, the smaller ones can be ideal to highlight smalle spaces while the large pieces can work well for living, kitchens and even dining rooms. In considering buying rugs, one must remember the following:
Choosing the material used and the way it has been constructed also matters. There are those that are machine-made rugs and others are handmade. Of course, if you are putting in a foyer area, got to consider something durable. Getting a rug on a lighter shade makes the room look spacious, but a darker color can make the room cozier in feel. Your furnitures colors and patters matters as well. Choose a rug that should complement your furnishings. A simple fabric rug can make or break one’s interior design of the house so placing the rug on its appropriate location is an important key as well. It can even be a highlight of a room where you can place a nice cozy sofa or chair.
Living in the new house makes me think to improve more the rooms. I’m in constant look-out of what’s new in house decorations. And buying rugs is one of those I love most.

7 December

It’s officially christmas in the house. We are ready to receive guests for the 6 parties we would have this month of December. Yeah, 6. And 3 of which would be this week already. So imagine how busy I could be this week. We have one already starting tomorrow, another one on friday night and one on Saturday. This are all happening in between my very busy schedule with work.
I haven’t taken picture yet of what the husband did for the christmas lights outside the garden but I’m happy to share our christmas decors inside the house. Since it’s our first christmas celebration in the house, I painstakingly took the effort to shop for all the items. All were up before we left for Guam as my sister-in-law threw a suprise birthday party for my brother last November 21 while we were in Guam. A number of their visitors complimented the decors…

Advance Merry Christmas to all!

The husband is asking me to join him today for a quick trip to Clark, Pampanga. He actually have some business concerns (meeting) in one of the companies in the ecozone there. He needs company for the long drive so I decided to give it a go. While he’s on a meeting, I would probably would just go to some PX stores there. Not sure if there are nice stuff to see but I am actually looking for some Bathroom Vanities for our master bedroom’s comfort room. I feel like we still need to add a contemporary vanity cabinet to place all our stored toilettries. Hope to find some there.

Been deciding on what Office Chairs should I get for my home office. I do not however intend to replace my executive chair but I do want an accent chair when I do have a visitor in our place. It’s a dream come true actually to finally have a home office right at the comfort of our dreamhouse. Now, I can comfortably work in my L-shape table complete with all things I need like printer, scanner and fax. Well, I have been browsing sites as to where I could get nice office furnitures. I found one that offers modern contemporary furniture from Spacify. Great pieces there and also offers lower price guarantee plus free shipping on some items. Need now to decide which among my choices should I get to complete the look of my home office.

is one of the topics recently with online friends. We are comparing notes. Apparently, there’s a comparison in buying a lot and building your own house versus buying a condominium or townhouse. I am in favor of the first one. According to the survey we did plus the research online we had before we acquired our property, owning your own lot is a better investment. This is also according to Real Property Management site, which is a full service management company for those who would like to own a single house. This site actually receives the “Franchise of the Year Honarable Mention” award. They have available units worldwide and have property managers who are very much aware on what property to offer based on one’s need. I will take pictures of the ones for sale within the area so my friends could get inspiration on what I am saying.

I wish I have this much space…

for my home office. And look at the furniture, who would thing that its a rustic furniture? It looks so modern as well, with an L-shaped table. It looks neat and tidy with an open bookshelf and a two-door tall cabinet. It could also be perfect for my home office. And yes, these are all made up of maple wood. Probably next time, lol!

There is a need to improve the lawn area so yesterday, I braced the heat and checked out the landscaping stores along White Plains Avenue and bought a number of plants and grass as well to add to our not so full lawn area as well as the front walled area. I am developing a love for plants, for gardening. I also saw beautiful orchids which I am thinking to grow. I wonder if I have a green thumb! You see, I haven’t grown any plant at all in my entire life so its a pressure on my end. I hope it would all blossom to beautiful plants eventually. And if I have proved that I am a green thumb, I wish I can grow money in our backyard! lol! Wishing it would be better looking already by next week in time for my bday parties!
Look at the lawn that I still need to improve…

Have you heard in the news last night about this new invention on electric cigarette? Amazing huh! Although I am still not into it but I just find it interesting and could be a good option for those who are having a hard time quitting this habit. Well, based on the information in the news, this kind of device is non-flammable but gives someone an actual smoking experience without any intake of any toxins. Sounds interesting? Yes, it even passed CE and ROHS certifications, making it a safe cigarette that still retains the cigarette taste. Using this can actually make one save a lot in terms of cost and also still keep you healthy, Hmm, I really hope so! Though, I think, I’m still not into it.

I wonder as to where I would put these Indian Home Decor which I got as one of the house warming gifts last week.

Though they are cute and colorful, it is just not appropriate with the interiors of the house. My aunt got it from a store online that sells authentic home decors and accessories from around the world. She said these pillows even came real from India. I would probably just use it to the lounge area in the garden since we are planning to put up a gazebo in the future. For the meantime, we are waiting for the half-court basketball to be fixed before we start to work on putting the blue grass.

Yes, curtains are up and so are the other furnitures are also there complete and set-up. I actually didn’t accentuate with any window valances since I prefer just a sleek straight cut of the curtains with just the drapes towards the buttom. Now, I am wondering how would I manage to change it. It was the decorators who put it up. I think we need to invest in sturdy and very long portable ladder. For the meantime, I am enjoying browsing the nice fabrics and customed designs which I am looking at Priority Windows site. I am now planning on what curtain to put for christmas!
