Few days before…

we left for Singapore, I have cleared my credit cards so I was pretty sure that my cards are free from bad credit repair.  But after the trip, I am THOUSANDS broke! LOL!  It’s a different story all together. But I was pretty happy that Dicky gave me some shopping money that added to my budget. And I guess I still won’t need a credit repair after going home with a luggage that was 8 kilos heavier than it’s weight on our way to Singapore.

If you are going to ask me, what I bought. My answer is just enough QUALITY items. I felt time was too short since it was our first time there so we also had to see the great attractions of the country.  We were only left to shop just half a day or even less of each day we were there. We didn’t bother to go to those chinatown or night markets anymore cause a number of friends told me that those items can just be found in 168 mall here in the country. Instead, we hop from one mall to another. It was exactly what I did on our last day while I left Dicky in our hotel room who just enjoyed the bath tub. As for me, I wouldn’t trade the remaining time to just sit back so I braved myself to the whole stretch of Orchard Road, cramming like crazy for last minute shopping. Singapore is a great place to shop for branded items and since we actually hit the last week of Great Singapore Sale, I couldn’t be happier with the great finds I found.  But gee, my feet and legs ached terribly!  I was literally limping on our last night! Hahaha.

Thank goodness my card is free from repair credit so I was able to still use it for one big purchase! (what could it be?) But nevertheless, if ever I would need a credit repair services, I would definitely check out what DSI Solutions has to offer.

Singapore buys (Part 1)

I put it as part 1 cause I’m pretty sure there would be succeeding parts after.  (wink, wink)

Went to Orchard Road yesterday as our hotel is just in Scotts road (Royal Plaza) which is a walking distance to most prominent shopping malls in Orchard.

Lunch in Wisma Atria, Food Republic then went strolling inside after.  We went to Tangs and Lucky Plaza after.  Bought a gold Cheong Sam for Margaux as she would need one for a school activity on July 24. Dicky was able to get nice neckties from Lucky Plaza at 3 for S$20.  Then we bought perfumes also inside Lucky Plaza.  Saw this store which sells cheaper than the ones inside Tangs and Isetann.

In the afternoon, went to CityLink Malls, got myself 2 pair of shoes from Charles and Keith and Dicky also got himself 2 casual shoes from Bata.

This morning, we would go back to some other malls in Orchard.  I hope I can drag Dicky already inside Takasahimaya and Paragon.  He doesn’t want to enter yesterday when he saw LV and Gucci outside!  (bwahaha)

Travel to Europe

With all what I have been reading from an egroup which I belong to regarding suggestions for second honeymoon places, Europe is topping the list. A number of them are actually saying that it is easy to book hotels online. It is actually one of my ultimate dream to travel really to this continent and I’m working on convincing hubby to give in to my request. But I guess, it is definitely not this year nor next year as we have a number of other plans lined-up. He said it could possibly happen in 2010. I would likely agree on that and settle for it rather none at all.

I heard that Spain could be a great option and the cheapest place to enjoy Europe so I would probably check Barcelona Hotels. Another one of my favorites is to see the London Eye so I would like to know the rates of London Hotels. And of course, it is a must to see the Vatican so we better check some Rome Hotels as well. If ever, we want to maximize the trip so we better check the best rates online possible from these options. We don’t want to be spending so much on high-end accommodations like those of New York Hotels since we would be on tours most of time.

I’m just wondering though if it’s really better to prepare own itinerary or go by the routes/packages of a travel agent? I would have to do a lot of researching in case we would do our own tours.

Decided…

finally for a Singapore Hotel where we would stay next month. And yes, I already booked it. After searching, researching and asking friends around, I’m glad with my (yes, just me and Dicky just said yes to whatever I decided on!, he actually tasked me to do it) decision. We would be staying in Royal Plaza on Scotts. It has very good ratings from tripadvisor.com and as Kelly confirmed that the rooms are nice, I was convinced to finally book it online. I made a direct booking to the hotel. Based on the map given to me by Juliet (thanks girl!), the hotel is very near orchard road, it is just perpendicular to the street. From the hotel’s website, it says that it right next to dfs galleria (read as: shopping!) and other known shopping outlets. I have been choosing between Park Hotel where Jane and family stayed before and the Orchard Hotel as suggested also by other friends, since these are both hotels in prime location. But when I checked tripadvisor, I was suprised to see the latest comment/feedback about the Park Hotel that it is bound for demolition already by end of the year, and that speaks for the bad service that they have recently. I don’t know if this is true but I don’t want to risk anything with our stay. Royal Plaza is even cheaper with Orchard Hotel but the first one is newer and has great amenities like free wi-fi access in all corners of the hotel including the rooms. I really hope it would be a worthwhile accommodation.

I’m excited for this trip. It would be our first time (for me and Dicky), although we won’t be bringing the kids :-( Will just shop for them, but we would definitely miss them. Dicky and I always make it a point to once in awhile have a quick getaway just by ourselves. I don’t know if it’s just me but it is my own opinion. Husband and wife deserve breaks like this!

And I’m bound to shop like crazy here since we are still hitting the great singapore sale!

Trip to Singapore

Grabbed the chance for the Php 0 fare of Cebu Pacific. I’m so glad Dicky agreed for another trip! There was a debate whether HK with kids or Sgp by ourselves. I wanted to bring the kids to HongKong Disneyland supposedly. We actually preferred going to HK previously (yearly) but this time we are foregoing it. We are booked for Singapore this July. I’m just so happy. Can you imagine it’s our first time? Dicky doesn’t want to bring the kids to a place unknown to both of us. Such a safe-keeper. He said the kids can wait till December for Disneyland in Anaheim. No matter what they say that flights are delayed, I have conditioned myself and Dicky that we don’t have to complain. I’m giddy happy! I’m looking forward for this trip! Time to book the hotel.

Bound for Vegas

Yes, I think we are 100% sure already to spend the holidays in the US this year so I’m overly excited. Ok, let’s pray I won’t get pregnant this year! Please spare me from the baby dust so we can push through with the trip. And since the brother of hubby is also moving from Alabama to Reno, we are also considering to check some reno hotels. We also plan to drop by Sanfo again to visit some friends. Ah, 3 weeks will be too short!

Grumbling…

I was grumbling to Dicky last night. I was like a little kid who was cranky and grumpy to him from dinner time till sleeping time. So what’s the complaint all about? I’m burned out from work and I’m demanding for a vacation with him and the kids. Well, I’m actually not “burned out” but I just want to travel. He reiterates that we are already going to Grande Island by Holy Week. So he calls it vacation? Not for me though cause it’s just an overnight accommodation. So he then said to check some resorts in Batangas!? What? Sorry, I didn’t buy the idea. Pathetic it may seem but I told him I want a vacation with air travel involved!

We debated and debated. While he was throwing back all the ideas I have, I keep on presenting new options for places to go to. I made my researches. I have a number of possible getaways to show him.

We compromised and compromised more.

At the end of the night, I finally won! Yipee! At least, I could settle for these for the meantime.

1 local destination to bring the kids and my parents (likely Boracay)—>I’ll be paying for this trip courtesy of my “other” career.

1 asian destination (most likely Singapore)

and 1 major travel (US trip within the year) but this is still subject to some criterias to be met! Wish, wish, wish.

Aside from it, since I read from Jacqui that they are going to Macau-HK if they will reach their sales quota, I also grumble about it so he then promised to bring me along! Yahoo!

So Jac, tell your team to work doubly hard. Bwahahaha.
